Dan works with organizations faced with strategic uncertainty, stuck in the status
quo or struggling with internal differences of opinion. As an outside resource,
Dan provides neutral perspective and motivates clarity of purpose, direction and
commitment to the future. Dan asks questions, listens and then catalyzes the discussions
that need to occur to formulate and initiate strategic change. While respecting
the strengths, culture and leadership of the organization, Dan seeks to reveal and
help clients address impediments to change initiatives.
After 24 years of environmental and other regulatory law practice, Dan commenced
a career in the business world and served in Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive
Officer capacities. Those experiences provided unique opportunities to experience
and lead major change, including ownership transition and structural and operational
initiatives. Dan's work is adaptive to the situation and individuals involved. No
generic tool, model or system is offered. Instead, based on experience and assessment
of the unique circumstances of the organization, he suggests a process for developing
the case for change. He employs skills with facilitation, coaching, strategic planning,
effectiveness assessment, governance and leadership analysis, compensation strategy
and process, and conflict diagnosis and resolution. Dan provides insight and perspective
to facilitate strategic change.
Through Ascent Leadership Dan has change consulting experience with professional
services, profit and non-profit and public agency sectors. His professional experience
includes the government, manufacturing, and utility sectors.
