Jane is a partner in Woodward Lewis, which specialises in supporting UK public sector organisations shift their culture and implement radical change. Over the last seven years, all our work has been gained through referral and recommendation, and we are "trusted advisers" for several local authorities. Jane is an open market licensed trainer for the Business Excellence Model, an assessor for the London Excellence awards and was adviser to the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives' Commission on Managing in a Political Environment.

Previously she held senior consultancy positions in KPMG and BDO Stoy Hayward, where she worked with Fortune 500 companies in the UK and Europe.

Jane's approach to change involves identifying the best in performance and ensuring that this is shared and delivered across organizations. She also works extensively with middle managers to promote change from the inside out.


Projects:

  1. Culture change in Hampshire County Council - designed and facilitated the programme and developed an internal team of change champions. Champions identified and spread good communications and people management practices. External assessors found a "sea change" in culture that enabled easier adoption of strategic tools such as SAP across an organization of 10,000 people.

  2. Employee involvement and engagement in business planning at Southampton City Council. Developed pilots for a new approach to business planning which was then rolled out across the whole Council. Directorate conferences and workshops were used to improve face-to-face communication and gain staff input to plans.

  3. Development of change management arrangements for inter-council service partnerships
